Hugging Yourself Benefits
Want to raise serotonin, increase dopamine, boost oxytocin, and create a sense of well-being?
Give yourself a 10-second hug every day. I am so serious, and here’s why: "You are safe, I've got you, I love you, and you are okay" is the powerful message you send to your body and brain when you wrap your arms around yourself. As part of my daily Self-Worship™ practice, I hug myself for up to a minute throughout my day.
The results?
I have noticed an improvement in positive energy, lessening negative feelings, and it just puts me in a super good mood. And who doesn't want that?
Do it like this:
Lovingly, caress up and down your arms and shoulders. If you do this as part of a self-soothing practice, the brain starts simulating the same effects as if someone you care for is hugging you. But the thing is, someone you care for is hugging you — it's you.
Your homework:
Make this part of your daily Self-Worship™ practice and report back to me via DM.
Love, your mentor,
